Basic qualifications
Qualifications & experience 
The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who is happy taking the initiative and making things happen. You will be looking to build a career in communications and should be able to demonstrate an understanding of, and interest in, corporate and external communications.

Minimum qualifications:
•A recent graduate, having graduated within the last 18 months, with a minimum 2.1 Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Multimedia, Digital Media, and/or Business.
•Exceptional communication skills, both written & verbal.
•Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Preferred qualifications: 
•A creative thinker with a desire to keep up to date with the latest digital trends.
•Strong writing skills
•Demonstrated ability to solve problems and exceptional ability to operate in a highly collaborative team environment.
•Experience with a web content management system (CMS) such as Umbraco or WordPress
•Familiarity with graphic design software such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign or otherwise
•Familiarity with photography and/or videography with a strong eye for detail.
•An avid user of social media with a strong knowledge of what works best for each channel and an understanding of how the channels can be utilised for paid campaigns.

Communications graduate 
As a science-led, global healthcare company, our reputation is incredibly important to us. Our communications team is an integral part of helping GSK communicate our values, and our product and business developments in a clear and compelling manner.
Communications provides a voice – both internally and externally – for all of GSK’s businesses in Ireland: Pharmaceuticals, Consumer Healthcare, and our three Global Manufacturing and Supply (GMS) sites in Cork, Dungarvan and Sligo. We use a variety of communication tools and channels to deliver a consistent story to all of our audiences, and are now looking for a communications graduate to join our team.

The role will involve working closely with the Communications Director and the wider communications team to manage GSK Ireland’s corporate digital channels and activate our corporate social responsibility strategy. Activities will include creating and publishing content on various media, managing charitable partnership activities, and supporting a wide range of internal and external communications, all aligned to GSK Ireland’s communications strategy.

What will this placement offer me?
This is an exciting role in which you will help to manage GSK’s reputation with stakeholders and customers. You will be responsible for creating and managing the newsflow of GSK Ireland’s corporate digital content for channels including ie.gsk.com, Twitter, YouTube, Facebook and LinkedIn.
Some of the main activities that the successful candidate would get involved in are:
• Help to develop and maintain GSK Ireland’s external corporate website
• Create engaging content for GSK Ireland’s social media accounts
•Help to monitor and reply to comments and questions in GSK Ireland’s social media accounts
•Provide expertise and insight into current and future digital communications and technologies
•Work with GSK’s digital communications teams around the world
•Design and create GSK branded graphics.

There will also be a chance to gain experience in some of the wider communications activities of the team including:
•drafting news stories, case studies and features for internal and external communications channels
•writing, designing and giving presentations
•co-ordinating events and webcasts for internal and external communications activities
•preparing PR campaigns and events
•managing, designing and writing employee intranet sites
•co-ordinating the filming and editing of videos
•auditing communications activities and making recommendations
•working with community partnerships and corporate responsibility teams to build understanding of our work
•engaging in social listening projects
•coordinating paid social and/or digital campaigns
•managing internal and/or external email campaigns

Where will I be based?
You will be based at the Dublin offices in Citywest, Dublin 24.
